This site contains ongoing resources for students who have taken my courses on  instructional design and online course creation. » ADDIE Web site:
  • The ADDIE model for instructional systems design (ISD) is a generic model that serves as the foundation for many  ISD models in use today. This site outlines the ADDIE process and provides resources and forms for implementing some of the activities involved in the course creation process.

  • Links to examples of storyboards for online courses and video elements.

» Copyright: Links for Copyright information

  • Includes sample permission letters and content development agreements, as well as links to a wide variety of information on copyright and fair use for course developers.

» Evaluation: Knowledge assessment & course evaluation

  • Includes links for more information on assessing knowledge transfer/acquisition, summative & formative evaluation, evaluating online learning, course compliance and accessibility, site design guidelines, and log analysis.

  • Instructional Design Models (Web link). This Web site contains an exhaustive listing of online resources on instructional design models.
  • Bloom's Taxonomy (Web link). This table briefly outlines one of the best-known methods of classifying education goals and objectives by the level of thinking involved. This is a useful tool for formulating goals, objectives, and test questions when designing your course
  • Distance Education (Web link). Although some of the technology information in this article is a bit out of date, the introduction, history, and the theory sections provide a useful overview of important topics.
  • ADDIE Instructional Design Model (PDF file). A brief overview of the ADDIE model
  • Objective writing (Web link). This site provides a fun and extremely simple online practice for objective writing.
  • Uses of Online Course Tools (Web link). This site from Virginia Tech provides some simple descriptions of how to use common technologies to support instruction
  • Standards for Quality Online Courses. (Web link). Michigan Virtual University has recently published its standards for quality online courses, available at the link here
  • AAHE ASSESSMENT FORUM: 9 Principles of Good Practice for Assessing Student Learning (Word document)
  • Creating Content for the Web (PDF file). This short paper describes Idaho State University's approach to assisting faculty in developing content by integrating an instructional model (the Dick & Carey model) with a delivery tool (WebCT).
